***** REGISTRATION FULL*****

We've reached capacity for the event this evening and apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment this may have caused.  Please know that Coral Ridge invites your middle school student to Gangway which meets every week at the church from 6:30-8:00p.

The Middle School “DNOW LOCKOUT” at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church is this Friday from 6:00p-Midnight.  While lots of students are excited to go, here is some additional information that may help clarify some concerns:

6:00 – Registration/Start
6:30 - Discipleship Lesson
7:00 – On-Site (indoor) Scavenger Hunt
8:30 – Rockin’ Jump Neon Trampoline Park
10:00 -  Beach Breakout Groups
11:00 - Dandee Donuts
12:00 - End/Pick-Up
(School bus transportation to and from offsite locations.)

There is pizza upon arrival (6:00) during drop-off and registration.  After verifying everyone’s registration, attendance is taken and checked at each transition in order to keep track of everyone.  Multiple adult volunteers who are involved in the church and youth group are helping run and supervise the event this Friday.  Coral Ridge’s Human Resource team runs a screening and background check on all of them.  Additionally, there will be a few high school student leaders assisting.  Each student will be assigned to a leader and given expectations about each location’s activities.

The scavenger hunt (7:00) will take place on site and indoors.  The expectation is that no student is alone or unsupervised.  Teams will be divided into groups of 5 students while an adult is present in every area of the hunt.  Additionally, the church will have a security officer monitoring the campus and security cameras.

The group will leave to Rockin’ Jump trampoline park (8:30) by WA school bus.  In the event of overflow, Caleb Koornneef (Youth Director) will drive a 15 passenger van; high schoolers are able to drive themselves in order to maximize space for middle schoolers on the bus.

After our group finishes at Rockin’ Jump (Xtreme Action Park’s trampoline park), the group will drive to the Commercial Beach (10:00).  The bus will stop at Washingtonia Ave. north of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea.  Commercial pier area on a Friday isn’t a good environment for middle schoolers due to bars, shops, and crowds.  Hence, the breakout groups will meet north of the restaurants where public safety concerns are minimized.  Students are NOT permitted to leave the group or go “exploring on their own.”  Upon arrival, two groups of boys and two groups of girls with at least two adult leaders per group will have discussion about the lesson from earlier.  The goal of going to the beach is to have a different environment to engage in with each other.  No one will be permitted to swim, shop, or leave the group for any reason.  The safety and wellbeing of each student is highly valued.

After breakout groups on the beach, students will arrive at Dandee Donuts (11:00) and return to the church for parent pick up at midnight.  Again, the expectation is that everyone has fun in a safe way.  Leaders will be supervising students on and off the bus so that everyone enjoys their time but is well looked after.

If you have further questions, please don’t hesitate to call during office hours.

Thanks,
Caleb Koornneef
