Join us for a Volunteer Day with Habitat for Humanity is on May 3rd from 7:30am-12:00pm. This is a "hands-on" service project and a great opportunity to positively impact our community with the love of Jesus. No previous experience necessary, but we do require you to complete/sign a liability waiver. Register below or contact Duane Mellor if you have any questions.
ADDRESS:
BBI Village Site
1923 NW 9th Ave
Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311
SCHEDULE: Try to arrive at the site by 7:15 am so you can check in, get your name badge and be ready for the 7:30 Morning Circle where we cover all important information including safety instructions.
PARKING: DD’s & CitiTrends Shopping Plaza (please park in designated parking area on the attached map closest to gas station). Volunteers will be onsite directing walkers to site.
WHAT TO BRING & WEAR: No storage available (so less is best). Volunteers should wear comfortable, long pants or shorts and sturdy, closed-toe shoes (sneakers are acceptable – no sandals, flip-flops, or dress shoes). Wear something that you don’t mind getting dirty because you are working on a construction site with lots of dirt & rocks. In addition, we suggest wearing a hat and bringing sunglasses. We will provide Personal Protective Equipment, training, tools, and bottled water for you throughout the morning, and snacks during the mid-morning break. Many volunteers like to bring their own work gloves, but we will have one size fits most (used) gloves & Plastic gloves (typically used for painting) available as well.
Please review our safety video before your volunteer day.
Thank you for partnering with Habitat Broward to build homes, communities, and hope!
